Scope of Work:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform preventive maintenance on Air Force Academy roofs. Secondary purpose is to be a knowledgeable reference source for roof design, maintenance, and repair. Tertiary purpose is to support structural assessment of Air Force Academy facilities – support the Structure and Finishes Activity Management Plans.
Responsibilities:

Complete monthly preventive maintenance roof tasks.

Provide information, and advice to craftsmen and engineers/architects on all aspects of roof condition assessment, design, maintenance and repair.

Assist engineers/architects with updating Activity Maintenance Plans with on-site condition assessment and reporting. Solve problems associated with roof membrane applications/maintenance and repair.

Assist other Activity Maintenance Plan engineer/architect with collecting condition assessment, recommending maintenance and repair actions.

Enter assessment data in the BUILDER data base.

Follows company safety guidelines in all aspects of job performance.

Performs duties as alternate safety program technician for the Operations Engineering Section.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Must be vaccinated in accordance with all Executive Orders, Government mandates or requirements, contractual requirements, and company policy.

Minimum of 4 years’ of specialized experience/ knowledge in roofing types, application, maintenance and repair.

Minimum of 4 years working in and with the crafts and trades – structural, heating/ventilation, electrical, plumbing.

Knowledgeable and having observed and followed safety aspects of roofing/crafts and trades.

HS Diploma or equivalent required. Vocational/technical training desired.

Ability to update, write clear and comprehensive and informative reports from infrastructure computer databases. Ability to collect, analyze and interpret technical data. Perform recurring work independently with little or no additional instruction.

Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel) required. Ability to learn and use new data automation software (BUILDER).

Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.

Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy.
