KIRA's metrics showthat since the Fort Carson BOS contract started in July 06, the majority of our shops are accomplishing at least 10% more service orders than the previous contractor. KIRA is accomplishing the same mission with fewer personnel.
KIRA's Customer Satisfaction high at Fort CarsonSince the contract's inception, KIRA has received 99% satisfaction ratings from our customers. KIRA's COR has stated that the other 1% is believed to be input error on the evaluation forms (based on follow up with the customers). |
Fort Carson
Fort Carson Base Operating Support Services KIRA's contract at Fort Carson, This contract includes the following: total facility maintenance and repair on over 850 facilities; grounds maintenance for 325 acres of improved grounds, 1300 acres of semi-improved grounds, and 1090 acres of unimproved grounds; maintenance and repair of all roads to include airfield pavements at Butts Army Airfield; maintenance and repair of all post utility systems to include hi-volt electric, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and natural gas; and plant operations for central heating and cooling plants, sewage treatment plant, and an industrial wastewater treatment plant. Supplemental utility and road maintenance is also provided at the geographically separated 240,000-acre Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site located in southeast Colorado. The Pinon Canyon site is schedule to triple to over 720,000-acres that will be maintained by KIRA. Also included in this contract is the maintenance and repair of 215 overhead crane/floor lifts, operation of R&U self-Help function, range maintenance, operation of the utility control system and maintaining the railroad.
Contractual responsibilities also include maintenance of several geographically separated units that are not located on Fort Carson proper. These include Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site located approximately 30 miles east of Trinidad, Bldg 20000, and a warehouse location near the Colorado Springs Airport, and at Pueblo Depot, located approximately 5 miles east of the Pueblo Airport. In addition we perform maintenance work at Camp Red Devil and at Turkey Creek Recreation Area, which are located on Fort Carson range property about 10 miles south of the main cantonment area. KIRA provides services for at least 120 tenant organizations and customers through the Fort Carson contract. An brief overview of those clients are as follow:
Contract Successes:After a lengthy legal process, KIRA was able to successfully phase-in this highly visible contract in one-half the time initially requested by the government. KIRA received verbal praise from the White House over our preparations for a visit to Fort Carson by Vice President Dick Cheney in October 2006. At the close of the grass cutting season in 2006, the acting DPW made
presentations to KIRA's seasonal workers and stated to them that the grounds

Colorado
is a base operating support contract providing operations and maintenance
services in support of the Fort Carson Directorate of Public Works.
The
contract also includes operation of the vehicle maintenance section which
maintains all public works vehicles that encompass 850 heavy equipment
and firefighting vehicles. In addition, KIRA staffs and operates its own
warehousing supply function to support craftsmen performing service orders.
