Fort Belvoir Base Operating Support ServicesKIRA's contract at Fort Belvoir, VA is a base operating support contract providing operations and maintenance services in support of the Fort Belvoir Directorate of Public Works.The Fort Belvoir Base Operating Support Contract requires KIRA provide all services, materials, plant supervision, labor, and equipment to operate, maintain, repair, and construct real property facilities, including unaccompanied/troop personnel housing at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This base operating support contract consists of preventive maintenance services, service orders, individual job orders, routine tasks in grounds maintenance, individual job orders and MEDDAC support. Specifically KIRA performs the following functions; pest control services, base-wide electrical systems, heating plants and systems, water systems, storm drain systems, air conditioning and refrigeration plants and systems, building and structures, grounds and landscaping services, surfaced areas, unaccompanied personnel housing operations and maintenance, refuse and recycling operations, hospital operations and maintenance, fire detection and suppression, environmental services, Nolan Building operations and maintenance, and other construction related work. Our staff performs maintenance, repair and alteration of HVAC, control, electrical, alarm, plumbing & pipefitting and distribution & collection systems, as well as welding, plant operations, carpentry, painting, sheet metal and roofing tasks. The central heating plant and rovers operate on a 24/7 basis. In addition, KIRA performs all administrative services necessary to perform the work, to including: supply, quality control, job order shop operation, financial control, and accurate and complete records. KIRA also provides related services such as formatting and inputting data into Government automated systems, and Government data base maintenance, preparing and providing required reports, compiling historical data, performing administrative activities and submitting necessary information as specified. KIRA takes pride in always exceeding specified standards. Fort Belvior, VA is a premier Army installation located just south of Washington D.C., Fort Myers, The Army's Engineering Proving Grounds, Leiber Reserve Center, and Humphrey's Engineering Center, making it highly visible in the defense community. There are numerous highly visible tent organizations such as the Army Material Command Headquarters Facility and numerous other Command Headquarters for various activities that are collocated on Fort Belvoir. The Fort Belvoir Garrison consists of approximately 9000 acres, including over 300 archeological sites and a designated historic district. There are approximately 575 buildings with a total area of 7.7 million square feet. And there are 128 miles of improved roads, 18 miles of untreated roads and numerous waterfront structures. KIRA is responsible for providing and maintaining a significant vehicle/equipment fleet and a workforce of over 180 personnel of all major disciplines. KIRA provides services for at least 120 tenant organizations and customers
